ARE CARPETS IN THE LIVING ROOM NECESSARY?

Ok, we have to recognize that it is a trap question. Each one's taste is that determines what kind of decoration to use in each room of the house and only that is to serve as a guidance.

So... Is it ok to use a carpet on the floor for our living room?

Yes, provided you look for that style of decoration and it must be clear for you that it can be attractive on the floor. But, when is it really necessary in your living room?

Carpet gives warmth to the room and helps to improve the overall image of the living room

The warmth that brings a carpet can go beyond being a decorative element. For example, it may be the perfect way to delimit living space from dining area. If it is placed next to the sofas and under the Coffee table, it will give a feeling of quiet and comfortable home.

Obviously, you cannot use it in the dining areas since it may stain easily and become impregnated with smells and stains difficult to remove. With regard to the material they are made of, we can play with different kinds of fibre. On the one hand, natural fibres offer a more pleasant appearance and texture, creating a more attractive space. On the other  hand, synthetic fibres can be passed off as natural and are as durable as these, but their price is much more reduced.

But it must be taken into account that a hand-made carpet can be much smarter, and we can be certain that it is a unique piece, that you will see in no other living room. Its price use to be much expensive, but it is really worthwhile. It is almost a piece of art.

For the living room, a woollen carpet, that is elegant and warmer, is more appropriate, but in other areas, such as bedrooms, a cotton one, that is more fresh and casual may be the most suitable.

But, as we already said at the beginning of this article, all depends on the owner's taste, because carpets as well as tiles will fit any decoration style.
