INNOVATION IN THE CERAMIC
Although it is a very usual element in our homes, the ceramic is constantly evolving and manufacturers continually improve their products to get better quality and functionality. These are the goals that make all the advances occurring in the field of ceramic tiles manufacturing to be applied to traditional methods.
Not so long ago, manufacturing systems were not very different from those used for centuries. Since the 1980s, everything has evolved and this system has improved dramatically. The change in the production line involved a better resistance of the tiles a well as a more accurate design.
Technology has allowed that the ceramic tiles are stronger and its design clearer
After handmade painting, using stencils which did allow very little changes in the drawing, serigraphy came, that, although it is the logical evolution of the traditional system, allows greater care in the decorations and a wide range of formats, offering us so many alternatives to lay at home.
Changes in cooking the tiles allowed that both floor and wall tile are more resistant, because most of manufacturers allow each tile to be fit in box only a few minutes after the clay is pressed into large presses. This promotes quality and avoids tiles damaging or other problems during provisional storage before being sorted and placed in a box.
The use of digital printers in production process has been recently incorporated. Before their arrival, each tile had to go through different printing screens, each one bringing one of the design colour. Using these printers, a single pass is enough to obtain the complete drawing printing on the tile.
And these improvements are so far to stop there. Every year new technologies appear, making possible that the production of the tiles is easier. Moreover, thanks to them, possibilities in the design increased and their productions is simplified.
